Summary

Elon Musk accused 60 Minutes of deception, saying its staff “deserve a long prison sentence” after the show aired an interview with ex-USAID administrator Andrew Natsios, who refuted claims of fraud in the agency.

Musk has previously criticized 60 Minutes for allegedly deceptive editing. However, Mediaite’s Colby Hall reviewed the released footage and defended CBS, stating it followed standard journalistic practices.

Meanwhile, JD Vance condemned European speech laws but distanced himself from Musk’s stance.

I watched that piece. Nothing on there was beyond what we’ve been being told for the last few weeks. This is just hushing the criticism to keep it all quiet.

You might want to rephrase that last sentence. Lemmy.world rules don’t like green plumbers.

Supposed most powerful billionaire that has the world at his fingertips, can do no wrong and controls everything … can’t take a bit of criticism from a TV show.

Dictators like President Musk always have the thinnest skin.

I appreciate that this is a figure of speech, but I really think that humanity would be better off if said skin was painstakingly investigated and its thinness verified throughout. For science.

It’s obvious if you look at how he runs Twitter. There’s actually more censorship now than before this ‘free speech absolutist’ took over.

That’s because they all think “free speech” means “my fringe speech”.

Twitter/X is a “free speech” platform where the swastika is protected, and the Rainbow flag is banned. Every account still on there today sees this as a good thing, or as the cost of messaging on that platform. All of them should be ostracized and dropped until they close their accounts.
