Anything can happen to anybody but cognitive decline is far more likely as you get up there in age

Not quite this but a young newsreader a few years ago had a glitch and started talking gibberish.

I don’t think putting age limits on public officials would fix the underlying problems with US politics, the fact that he can keep winning despite his incompetence and policy being anathema to the interest of his voters suggest much larger issues in the news and voting systems.

Even if we banned everyone over the age of 70 from being a legislator, we’d just have younger fecal stains getting elected by the same broken systems and pushing the same bad policy.

I agree. Age barely tackles the problems. With this Mitch event, I’m reminded of the Feinstein thing from earlier this year.

It’s not just the gop. Feinstein needs to go as well. But yes the gop are evil like the skeksis.

Agreed. And Feinstein barely knows what’s going on. Pelosi and the establishment dems are just using her to keep a seat. It’s freaking elder abuse, at least in her case.

in both cases i dont understand it, well mitch is a little more understandable as the senate minority leader, the seats are safe for their respective parties. force these people out before they get to this point so they can enjoy some time at home with family.

I’m not gonna shed a single tear when he finally bites the dust (quite the opposite, in fact), but that was still freaky to watch.

I know these ghouls don’t care, and it’s not like everyone likes me. But it has to ve a weird feeling to know that when you finally eat dirt, people around the world go: fuck yeah.

He was just listening to Moscow in his ear price and his attention drifted.

What are you talking about? If he goes, Ukraine loses an ally.

He’s the face of the Republican Party in the Senate and has been behind some really reprehensible actions like stealing a Supreme Court seat, but you are correct that currently he’s supportive of Ukraine. I wouldn’t expect that to last if Trump or another Russian tool wins the Presidency. He wasn’t nicknamed “Moscow Mitch” for no reason.

I am just referencing a nickname not making an actual critical judgment. Its gallows humor and little more.
