Just so people know, there are no private messages on slack. Slack Remembers All.

There is now software for organizations to surveil Slack for keywords and negative sentiment automagically and set up alerts for HR or your manager, etc… I’d be more than a little cautious about what you write there.

Do not do this. All private messages are exported as plain text when the admin exports workspace data for backup/archival purposes.

It’s wild that people actually think that these platforms are secure.

I do this except via text so management can’t find the messages

People used to do this at tech conferences, but using Twitter. Someone would start a hashtag and people would jump in. There was always a fun side-channel going with people commenting on what was being presented on the main stage.

Fun times, before… sigh

I preferred teams over slack. At least I could hear the notification.
