You’d think that in Britain, the worst thing that could happen to you after sending a few critical WhatsApp messages would be a passive-aggressive reply or, at most, a snooty whisper campaign. What you probably wouldn’t expect is to have six police officers show up on your doorstep like they’re hunting down a cartel. But that’s precisely what happened to Maxie Allen and Rosalind Levine — two parents whose great offense was asking some mildly inconvenient questions about how their daughter’s school planned to replace its retiring principal.

They had already been banned from school grounds, which doesn’t happen because you are being too calm and reasonable.

Horrendously editorialised, too; it’s written in such a way as to specifically get people riled up. Tabloid-style rubbish.

I believe the arrest did happened, but unclear what those two said in the comms, How frequent the comms were, or did in school’s area. For sure missing details, and try to get readers emotional.

https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2025/mar/29/parents-arrested-by-hertfordshire-police-for-complaining-about-daughters-school

Maxie Allen and his partner, Rosalind Levine, said they were arrested and detained on suspicion of harassment, malicious communications and causing a nuisance on school property.

The school said it had “sought advice from police” after a “high volume of direct correspondence and public social media posts” that they claimed had become upsetting for staff, parents and governors.

It certainly wasn’t just “complaining on WhatsApp” that they were arrested for.
