This is just one of thousands of examples of immense disrespect. And his cult follows him along through everything.

I’m all seriousness, if you find this appealing, would you not be happier if you just move there? If you have no allegiance to this country, please be respectful, have some dignity, and don’t actively try to ruin it for the rest of us. Stop trying to sabotage this country by actively undermining it.

Actually, it was the Canadian soldiers that marched through Italy; the Canadian soldiers that marched north to Denmark and protected the American flank; the Canadian landing at Juno beach which not only protected the American flank, but pushed further and faster, greeting the American troops as they finally pushed off of their beachhead; the Canadian top command that developed the more efficient ways of fighting a modern battle, especially the results learned from the essentially Canadian Dieppe raid (which WAS successful, the Canadians got off the beach and made it to the post office for what they went for); the Canadian scientists that worked on the development of the Atomic bomb long before the Manhattan Project, and went on to establish Chalk River; the Canadian merchant marine that kept Britain supplied during the war… the list goes on and on. You do not need to be a tankie, just a good student of Canadian history.

Unfortunately for our Canadian legacy, we do not brag.

To extend to this, the rest of the British Empire at the time did massive contributions. The Aussies did real work during the Africa Campaign, even holding a town that single-handedly crippled the Afrika Corps’s advance towards Egypt (also Egyptions doing some great work supporting Commonwealth troops as they prepared for the counterattack), countless Indian sacrifices all over the place despite Churchill causing more Indian deaths than the Germans at the same time, New Zealand giving a good show despite basically not having an economy or a population at the time. Frankly, you can point at almost any part of the commonwealth, and they all punched way above their weights for this war, and that doesn’t even start talking about the British homefront.

And outside of the colonies, Poland really carried hard on several ways, from volunteers flying during the Battle for Britain, to a single small destroyer soloing the Bismark for an entire hour screaming at the battleship dozens times larger than it (the full story of the Piorun is insane).

Either way, tons of recognition is deserved all around, not just pointing at the UK, Russia, and the US.

That’s why it was called a ‘World War’.

While that’s largely true, it also oversimplifies the realities of the conflict.

Without American aid the Russians wouldn’t have been able to repel the Germans nearly as effective as they did (if at all), and without D-day splitting the war into two fronts, Russian losses on the way to Berlin would’ve been significantly higher.

That all said, Trump’s statement is obviously horseshit and a complete disservice to the rest of all the allied forces.

Exactly. Every nation gave something. The USSR gave immense amounts of life, the British gave intelligence, the Americans gave industrial capacity, the Canadians, Australians, and New Zealish gave a courage that they rarely are credited for, many British colonies gave enough to be able to leverage it in their pushes for sovereignty, the occupied nations and surviving German and Italian antifascists gave their resistance, intelligence, and worked to keep victims safe.

No nation beat the axis alone. Each combatant gave enough lives to hurt. Each nation gave enough money that the civilians felt the pain. And each nation had both fascists and antifascists in it. When we focus on who did most we open the door to nationalistic thinking when the lesson we should take is an internationalist one

I wouldn’t say the UK was the second most influential—realistically, that spot goes to the US. And I’m not even a big fan of the US right now, but their industrial power, global logistics, and role in both Europe and the Pacific made a massive difference. Without their support, especially through Lend-Lease and D-Day, things could’ve turned out very differently.

He doesn’t care. He thinks those people are losers. He has no concept of what war means for the people fighting in it, it’s just an abstraction, it’s just a word that can be pulled out when conversations need to be redirected or attentions refocused. It means nothing.

Yeah, if we’re being honest, Russia fought beyond the bounds of mere bravery, and sacrificed in numbers incomprehensible in the west. And their country is still suffering national PTSD from it.

Even Canada sacrificed more per capita than the US in both world wars.

The above may have been different if the US had been there from the beginning, rather than showing up two years late. Don’t talk about bravery, brilliance and principle when you can’t even be bothered to join the fight until after everyone is beat to a pulp. And if you do, try not to brag and boast for decades about how amazing you were.

I’m Canadian, with a family that’s been in the military and fought in every war as far back as we trace our genealogy on the continent. United Empire Loyalists that separated from a New Jersey revolutionary family to move to Ontario.

Having said all of that, my comment was only meant to illustrate that even Canada, with a population and a manufacturing base a fraction of the US, bled more per capita. But not according to any American narritives, certainly not according to Trump and his cult.

No kidding…this corpulent hemorrhoid is as soft as baby shit, what the fuck is he going on about?

The day Idi AnOrange Dada decides to shuffle off his mortal coil will be the day the world can start to heal. And it will be a long, long road, littered with a hopefully diminishing cadre of cultist partisans.

Trump is a disgrace to humanity and the millions that fought and died for freedom. Freedom which he was able to live in, but was too chicken shit to ever fight in. Freedom he now wants to destroy.

I’ll happily celebrate victory day on the day of his death and hopefully it’s celebrated worldwide. Liberation day would also work.

May the dark angel of death take Trumps life immediately.

I told my mom the same thing about celebrating his death. I suspect a lot of people with spontaneous fireworks will let everyone know the day with even more fireworks than on the 4th.

America claiming it did more than any otber country to achieve victory in WW2 has to be the most laughable shit. I hope the rest of the world sees it that way

The entire point of a Memorial Day or a Remembrance Day is to honour the sacrifice and to lament that it was necessary. Simpleton Trump thinks it should be about celebrating victory. It is hard not to feel bad for somebody that is so incomplete as a human being.
