“What’s the indigenous population in your state?”
Americans who get mad at this question and who cowardly reply with “whataboutism” are just upset that regardless of what China does or has done in the past, the US is still quantifiably responsible for one of, if not the greatest, crimes in human history.
Always important to remember that the US was literally the model for German nazis and the holocaust.
I was reading Palo Alto recently, and the way the book describes how the ethnic cleansing of the indigenous people took place is enlightening. The US has mastered the ability to make its citizens not just complicit bystanders, but active parties in its genocidal operations.
I really don’t think any other settler colony has been quite as successful in making participation with genocide materially beneficial for their settlers as much as the US (Not from a lack if trying obviously).
The horror of its success is huanting.
What I find so funny about their insistent use of that particular image is that the so-called “tank man” is shown on video literally climbing up onto the tank and having a chat with the PLA soldier inside. If you tried that in any Western country, you’d most definitely get shot, so if nothing else this event speaks to the character of the PLA as a genuine army of and for the people
Trump’s birthday parade is an opportunity for something very funny.
