The “problem” is that wind, solar, and batteries for overnight storage can now outcompete fossil fuel generation on price, which means that the patrons who back the Republican party stand to lose a lot of money.
That wasn’t very free market of you homie.
When Republicans say, “don’t threaten me with a good time,” they aren’t just joking.
It’s so dumb, too. It saves money, but the party of fiscal responsibility doesn’t want that. It is the open market self-regulating, but the party of open market and limited regulations wants to regulate it out of business.
Republican lawmakers in the Texas Legislature are pushing to rein in renewable energy
as always, they left out the with oil barons’ cocks in their mouths after “republican lawmakers”
I derive endless comedy from democratic states wanting to change but being unable to because of environmental regulations and Republican states not wanting to change but being unable to because of free market capitalism.
Free market republicans are a lie.
It’s like everything with them: they talk about principles but what they really mean is everything must be bent to their advantage. When following their claimed principles would help someone else, they abandon the principles or move the goalposts.
