Close. Conservative comedy is about punching down, which can never be funny.
“The One Joke” is just its current, culturely relevant iteration. In 10-20 years, it’ll be “climate refugees…am I right?”
King of the Hill features characters who are likely conservative, but it’s just a satire of a part of the country. I’ve never watched it and felt that the show itself was political in any way.
Honestly I’m finding that’s just political humour today it’s all just “this is my view… laugh” quite frankly that just kinda goes with both sides so yeah fuck political issues in intertainment it’s obvious no one can make a good joke using this stuff
With conservatives they are rather boring blokes but good god can you even find one good joke made by left as far as I’ve seen everyone who has taken the time to pick a side and make jokes about the topic they usually don’t have a sense of humor at all so yea i genuinely think it’s both sides
punching is a vector that, generally, should increase in y coordinates regardless of x
It has definitely changed. You can’t compare Imus on his worst day vs that YouTube guy PJ on his best day. They aren’t even doing the same sport. At some point it just went from gentle teasing to vicious. I liked King of the Hill even when the enemy of the week was leftwing, because rarely was the enemy of the week evil they just had some kooky ideas. There is a difference between telling someone that they are being silly and telling someone that they are raping children.
