The article has a soft paywall. Just put in an e-mail address to get access.

Here’s a relevant excerpt:

Journalist Jacky Levi and his partner, whose five family members were abducted to Gaza, said last night in an interview that Netanyahu tried to create a divide between the families. “There’s a deliberate intention here, we are sure of that, no one knew him,” Levi said of one of the four family members who unexpectedly joined the meeting. “We’re looking into who he is and who he represents, because it cannot be that he just showed up out of nowhere to a meeting with the prime minister.”

Tzvika Mor, whose son Eitan has been missing since the attack, said on Monday in an interview with Kol Barama Radio Station that he was the one who participated in the meeting. “I want to debunk the lie that we arrived out of nowhere, it’s a lie.”

“No one can just opportunely come in and meet the Prime Minister. We represent four families whose loved ones were abducted, and we wanted to convey a national message to Netanyahu. We need to stop this whiny behavior. We need to win the war. In a time of war the people of Israel have to make sacrifices, even when our children are there, and prevail,” Mor added.

So basically, a Netanyahu lackey who has a child missing, comes “uninvited” into a prearranged meeting with families of hostages drawn from an organization set up by these families, gasses up Netanyahu, and argues against hostage negotiations and calls for the families to prepare to sacrifice their family members taken hostage.

Sorry to link to facebook, but this is a relevant post I saw a few days ago to do with this, in Hebrew, see general idea bellow

Basically the man in the photo speaking too Netanyahu, Shmuel Medad, is one of those who joined the meeting uninvited at the last minute and who wasn’t known to any of the other families. This and other photos from the meeting of parents hugging Netanyahu were not taken by anyone in the original group of families, but have been published as ‘officially’ from the families of the kidnapped and in their name.

Medad is the head of honenu a far right nationalist legal aid organisation.

He is close friends and works with another man, Hagai Ben Artzi.

Hagai Ben Artzi is Sarah Netanyahus’ brother.

And it gets worse, Shmuels’ wife Etti has started a protest camp opposing the existing protest camp already started by the families of the kidnapped, to ‘represent’ the families that are pro-Netanyahu, and shout abuse at the other families that are calling for him to e made accountable.

I wish I could say they at least get money or something, but they’re probably happy just being considered “close to” the PM.

Just to give people an idea of how bad the corruption is at every level and how Netanyahu is only looking out for himself (he’s thrown the entire region in to war to try and cling to power, he does 5 of these ‘mini’ corruptions before breakfast)…

According to a senior official at the Families’ Headquarters, the incident caused a lot of stir among those who attended the meeting. “Some of [the family members] told me that if this continues, they will turn to Biden to represent them,” he said. “We have no idea who this guy who spoke at the meeting was. He isn’t a member of the Families’ Headquarters, we don’t know him and we don’t know what his story is.”

Imagine feeling so fucked by your own government that you feel (perhaps not incorrectly) that a foreign leader is more likely to help you, just for the good PR.

Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.

Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to “Mom! He’s bugging me!” and “I’m not touching you!” Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.

  • Rule 6: Memes, spam, other low effort posting, reposts, misinformation, advocating violence, off-topic, trolling, offensive, regarding the moderators or meta in content may be removed at any time.

  • Rule 7: We didn’t USED to need a rule about how many posts one could make in a day, then someone posted NINETEEN articles in a single day. Not comments, FULL ARTICLES.
