I just want to be clear that I’ve paid for Sync in various ways I think 3 or 4 times now and I’ll gladly pay for it again. Jerboa has been at least functional (10x better than when I first started using it a few months ago).
But it’s Sync I want.
Honestly I feel like I should donate to Lemmy apps I don’t even use. Sync will likely become my primary vehicle to the fediverse but the fact that I have a choice is the most important aspect. A healthy competitive app ecosystem is essential.
I ended up buying pro of several reddit apps during my time there just to support the up and coming devs of those apps. Sync will most likely be my daily driver here, but I’d be happy to kick a few bucks towards each of the other Lemmy app devs and buy a pro version. It’s the least I could do to show support for the work they’ve put in so far.
They’re are also other apps, like liftoff which I think is really good. Also thunder if you’re big on gestures.
I hope they all succeed! Honestly I do.
It’s just that, well, I started using Sync morev than 10 years ago. Averaged 1.5-2 hours every single day since then. It’s very much home for me.
I’m very happy there are other choices and I’m very glad that some people prefer them. But once I learned Sync was coming to Lemmy it automatically earned first dibs on my loyalty.
I like liftoff, sure, but sync just… Does everything I expect like I expect things to be done.

Jebora wouldn’t launch on my phone the first time I tried it a couple weeks ago. Downloaded it again today and now it’s my default over Liftoff (which is still a great app). It just gives me the Sync feel. But nothing can beat the real thing so can’t wait.

They should change the logo so blue is up and orange is down now
Enjoyed sync for reddit for basically the entire time I used it. Excited about sync for lemmy.
Sync = reddit for me, so I’m sad with the forced shut down. I’m ready for Sync for Lemmy!
Is an app for viewing the website. Lots of the apps offered better viewing, filtering and search features for reddit compared to the normal website.
