I’m just picturing the dude at the front desk of the gym watching a guy running on a treadmill with a plate and bar, and wondering if he should walk over and say something

Eh, for that part, probably not.
Once you spider your way up onto the top of the equipment and start doing lifts while balanced on the support bars, though, yeah that’s a gym ban.
