Well in military terms it’s a counter offensive because they wanted to retake land that was occupied by the Russian offensive. But you’re right, it’s not technically an offensive because Ukraine didn’t retake any land from Russia.

I keep wondering if there’s going to be a mass wave of uprisings against western-allied but locally-unpopular governments in the global south quite soon. The arms stockpiles are getting low, and direct cash as foreign aid is getting unpopular among the citizenry of western countries. This seems like the ideal time for insurgent groups to take action.
