I’d like to try the new Assassin’s Creed and Avatar, but they’re not on Steam - which is how I play almost every other game on Linux. I know I might be able to install Uplay games using Lutris, but I’m not sure if the experience is as smooth as Steam + Proton.
Do you have any experience with Ubisoft + Lutris? Is there an equivalent to ProtonDB to have an idea how well a game runs?
I ran assassin’s creed Valhalla without any issues by installing Ubisoft Connect through Lutris.
Lutris is smoother than steam for me. It is very painless to set up games I reccomend
You can add the Uplay installer as a non steam game and it runs ok that way
Using heroic to play avatar. Just add uplay as a game and download anything there.
I don’t, but I have used Lutris before, and it kicks the crap out of Bottles. It’s real easy to use, and you can download whichever proton/wine version you like. It’s slightly less streamlined than Steam, but it’s not difficult.
You should be able to find other people’s tips online about which versions they used for these games with some searching. I’m sure you aren’t the only one.
