Hey there everyone! I have a possibly noobish question about the number of active users.
I’ve been watching the stats on occasion and lately, I’ve noticed that Lemmy’s number of active users has been decreasing. (for the last month at least).
While the number has been on an upward trend for the last 6 months
Last month’s stats have been less than rosy.
So could anyone explain how this might affect Lemmy? I think I’ve read before that only people who post or comment count as active users, but seeing it go down is kinda alarming. So am I right in thinking that Lemmy has been losing active users since July 11 or am I missing something?
I would like to invite you to increase your mastery of the English language by learning about all the tenses. With a judicious choice, (I would recommend a pluperfect progressive), you can avoid writing confusing and self-contradictory things like:
Lemmy’s number of active users has been decreasing for the last month. […] the number has been on an upward trend for the last 6 months
Cool, come back to this discussion once you stopped sniffing your own farts like the pompous asshole that you are.
Bro it was just a chance to improve your grammar. It was offered in good faith. If you don’t want it that’s of course your prerogative. But there’s no need for rudeness and hostility.
Of course in going that route you’ve demonstrated an aspect of lemmy that may be an answer to your question.
Yep, it’s slowed down and it’s noticeable
Regression to the mean?
Bots that don’t identify as such count towards active users. There have been a number of bot purges.
Off-topic question, but where can you see the stats?
Probably the-federation.info, which in general is a 11/10 resource.
