All elections are ripe targets for foes of democracy.
Definitely but don’t downplay that democrats play dirty too, Bernie got screwed twice or how about the green party. Might be the way the game is played but not very democratic IMHO
I think it’s worth keeping the idea of party reform in mind. If fascism is successfully repressed there will be significant changes that are long overdue
“Both sides” are owned by the same 8 people who own all of industry.
Corrupt democrats…yawn… BORING! Dismissively repeating talking points is pretty cool though. Newspapers suck, and reading books when TV exists? I just want Rachel Maddow to tell me it’s all gonna be OK and who to hate. Pro wrestling is real.
What democracy? The one dominated by lobbyist-funded candidates?
I agree that American democracy has flaws, and I’m not the one downvoting you. But I think saying “it’s already rigged” when talking about foreign interference in elections is counterproductive. At a bare minimum people should try to learn and discuss the issues and vote. To advocate otherwise is to say that we’ve already failed.
It’s not defeatism to point out the reality. If you ignore the reality then you cannot solve the problems.
It kinda is.
defeatism. noun. de·feat·ism di-ˈfēt-ˌiz-əm. : an attitude of expecting defeat or of accepting defeat with the belief that further effort would be useless.
