Well, not anywhere in america. https://locations.wafflehouse.com/
lol, found the pedant! Entirely fair though, the title was more of a mood than factual.
Not really pedantry when it’s associated with a specific region of the US.
If you grew up in the Northeast or west coast you’ve likely never seen a waffle house.
I was gonna say… I grew up in CA. My first time eating Waffle House was in my 20’s on a trip to Florida with my college lacrosse team. It was across the street from the hotel, and was and still open when we stumbled in after a night of drinking. 10/10. Would recommend to drunk people.
Mainly since I wanna try Waffle House but it isn’t in my state, or the next state, or the state next to that one.
It is simultaneously worth it and a complete letdown. Honestly the worse one you can find the better. We were the only ones there and hijacked the jukebox playing the worst songs we could find. we tipped well.
I lived in NW Atlanta near an intersection with Waffle Houses on two opposite corners. Glorious.
Drove from Baltimore to Atlanta. If my memory serves correct there were 37 visible from the highway. Moved out of Maryland and have never seen one since outside of a meme.
You must have moved to the west coast then. Certainly didn’t move anywhere near Atlanta if you’re not seeing Waffle Houses.

My nearest is two states away
Do fights actually break out at these things or is it a meme?
Explain like I’m a foreigner.
They’re open pretty much all the time and don’t close at night, so naturally drunks and other rowdy folk congregate there. Prime time for fights to break out over silly minor things, which often turn physical. There’s a reason most restaurants shut their dining rooms down by midnight.
Do they also have like kebab/swarma places that are open 24/7? Where I live drunk people always seem to want to eat something like that.
Can’t imagine getting drunk and thinks let’s get a waffle.

Since it’s a WaHo, I’d immediately guess this photo is in Georgia.
Technically, Vandalia, Ohio. But I really like the “anywhere-ness” feel of this image!
The street address (380) is visible in the picture. Google says there are only two Waffle Houses with a street address of 380, and the picture doesn’t match the one in Lebanon, Tennessee.
Actually, when the results first came up, the states weren’t in the list, just the towns, and for a moment I was delighted and hopeful this was a Waffle House in Lebanon, Kansas, which would’ve made this post a delicious layered piece of image+commentary!! [The “middle of America” is just outside Lebanon, Kansas.] But alas, the Lebanon Waffle House is in Tennessee, and this image isn’t even of that Waffle House, dashing my dreams of delicious and layered meta-imagery …
