Bobby Fisher punches the computer

Punches the computer and starts blaming the Jews, because the unfortunate truth is that Bobby Fisher, in addition to be a massive prima donna, was kind of a Nazi.

It’s actually pretty wild, Bobby Fisher’s chess mentor openly walked around with a swastika lapel pin, in the 1950s.

My thought was it’s very similar to a human, passing off complete bullshit as though it were fact, in a succinct and self-assured manner.

I’m starting to miss the days where a computer program would just respond with “Syntax error” or “No results found” instead of generating random garbage.

I tried to get chatGPT to solve wordle for me once. The stupid thing can’t keep more than half a rule straight at one time.

I think that’s because it’s glorified autocorrect

People need to stop assuming chatgpt is “smart” or knows a lot. It just sputters whatever words are most likely an answer to your words.

To be fair, that description also applies to me way too often.

The only decent use case I found for it so far is building regexps because I fucking hate regexps and it seems to do a decent job at following your instructions + correcting the regexps based on feedback after I put it through a regexps tester.

I’m sure the regexps wizards will point out some issues with its results though.
