This is my first ever attempt at ricing. How did I do? Do you have any suggestions?

Yes, I am working on it. VSCode is kind of a memory/cpu hog.

You may want to check out LazyVim for a painless setup, Elijah Manor has a nice video on it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N93cTbtLCIM

Here is an alternative Piped link(s): https://piped.video/watch?v=N93cTbtLCIM

Piped is a privacy-respecting open-source alternative frontend to YouTube.

Iโ€™m open-source, check me out at GitHub.

Yes, your 8-core processor with 32GB of RAM probably canโ€™t handle running it for long!

Seriously though, as much as I despise bloat, whatโ€™s the point of having that power and not using it?

Nothing inherently wrong with an extremely capable IDE like VS Code, other than using VSCodium instead to have a 100% open source solution.

this is exactly the reasoning that led to the bloated UIs we see today

I totally agree. Some of the most brilliant programmers alive use VSCode. Building my Neovim config has made me a better programmer, but Iโ€™m still a chimp with a waffle next to someone like JT.

I believe itโ€™s slang for customization that comes from the world of modding Japanese cars.
