How fucked is there server code that it takes 2+ weeks to implement a simple login queue like wtf

I don’t know anything about how that stuff works. But considering it’s on Steam and has no dedicated servers you choose and it’s cross platform would it not have to talk to a lot of different servers simultaneously? Like, I can squad up with my buddies from the UK while I’m in Canada and also have someone on ps5 in the USA. None of them experience lag. Seems like it isn’t your normal every day “net code” most other games would have to accomplish
