I watched one episode and then gave up on it and finally started the animated version. I’m loving the original series so far.

Not watching it. The original show was very good and until now wasn’t milked season after season. It told the story it wanted to and ended

fuck this show, I am so sick of the constant live action reboot/remake garbage, avatar never needed to be remade or changed

LoK could’ve been given the time and budget it needed for a bit of fixing, but Netflix really loves snorting lines of live action for some reason.

Honestly it was enjoyable but to me completely misses the point of book 1’s journey.

Did Aang learn waterbending? No. Did Katara try to/struggle with teaching him while she was learning herself? No. Was Katara the strong female lead she was in the show? Basically the heart of the show? No.

Also I find the acting subpar. The more cold-ish faces clashing with experienced actors that embrace the goofiness is meh…

It’s not perfect but I enjoyed it.

Yeah, I agree. Some of the acting didn’t feel grounded in the scene, kind of like they were performing on stage and some of the lines could have been better. On the other hand the bending related cgi was well done as well as the environment. Overall I really did enjoy it and look forward to seeing the next 2 seasons.

If only it was a bit more fun. Sokka was basically the only semblance of comic relief and even then…

All the humor being gone is such a crime. Half of Aang’s personality is his love of fun.

Aang had literally no personality in this new series. His only lines the entire season were “this is my fault” and “I should have been there.” His character was a real buzz-kill the entire time.
