I wonder if this is just OpenAI hopes of training on AP archives to reduce the amount of falsely generated information regarding real-world events and people or if there’s something more going on.
Aside from using ChatGTP to write articles more quickly what is AP getting in return? Are they hoping OpenAI will work with them on creating a more powerful tool for article writing, or retrieving previous information from AP publications? Maybe they just want to reduce the spread of misinformation?
… yeah that’s probably a good idea. Of course, it always could wind up being a bad idea. Or neither. In reality it’ll probably end up being both…
