“While we’re talking, I know everyone’s mind rejected the Matrix when it was too perfect, but if you could program in some pizza rolls and a loving goth GF I think that would strike a nice balance between utopia and modern hellscape. I’d ask for Bethesda games to be great on release, but that would probably trigger the whole ‘this is too good to be real’ response again.”

I have a similar scenario. Half-life 3 comes out: “TAKE ME OUT OF THIS SIMULATION, DEMON!”.

Half-Life 3 already came out, just in a short story form. I’m okay with it.

Does anyone else remember Fold@Home? It was an app for the PlayStation 3 that created a supercomputer from all the PS3s running it to help fold proteins in order to research cures for diseases. Whenever I ran the app I felt like I was in the matrix 😂 I miss that era so much.

Folding@home is still going, and is also on PC. Pretty cool idea. Anyone know if current-gen consoles run it?

No idea tbh, I haven’t seen it on my PS5 store

Wasn’t the matrix based in the paradise that was 1999? I’m pretty sure our AI overlords wouldn’t let things go up to the point that PS5s existed, easier to just restart the 90s over and over.

No, the paradise matrix was a failure. Crops were lost. So they changed it to take place at the height of human civilization, just before AI was invented and started the war that destroyed the planet. Humans need to feel pain and suffering in order to accept reality.

But you’re right; no PS5 in the Matrix.

The Matrix: 2001

GTA: San Andreas: 2004

Nope :(

GTA3 is the latest game in the series that might be in it.
