  • Lather: Barrister and Mann - 42 - Soap

2 passes. Face lather. Excellent shave.

A great travel shave. Having an excellent travel strop and a Friodur 472 makes straight shaving care free.

Monday, April 1, 2024: Monday, Bloody Monday

Shit shave. I had refreshed my TI after this recipe, but I must have screwed up somewhere – probably didn’t use enough pressure with the first stone. The brush hardly held enough lather for a cheek – I’m not sure I’ll use it again. But I’m still impressed by the HAGS soap.

Have a good night!

I’m surprised nobody commented on the ultimative honing video by the Froggy Shave - don’t worry: he uses a Gold Dollar!

  • Brush: Dogclaration LG 2022 Mystery Brush (B16)
  • Razor: Böker S.S. Paris Wins
  • Lather: Chicago Grooming Co. / House of Mammoth Armonía
  • Aftershave: Chicago Grooming Co. / House of Mammoth Armonía

I’ve been sleeping on Armonía. When I read about the tobacco topped fougère idea, I couldn’t picture it. Fougère and tobacco were at odds in my mind, and I didn’t jump on the first release. When the glowing reviews started rolling in, I started to figure out that I had missed out on something big. But still I didn’t do anything about it for almost two years, until the AG 1889 sub exclusive when adding Armonía to the order was just one simple click. I’m so happy I did!

Tobacco, green, fresh, and… tart? It’s wonderful and I know I’ll enjoy getting to know this one better over the coming weeks.

The picture shows a frag but after the shave, I decided I wanted to enjoy the unadulterated scent of Armonía a bit longer and skipped it.
