The mother, 17, allegedly “changed her story several times” but ultimately “confessed” she had been tired and wanted to take a nap, filled the baby’s bottle, and put some of “what she thought was cocaine” in the bottle, the sheriff said.

Why the hell would you give cocaine to a baby to make it sleep. WTF

Why the hell would you give an adult coke if you wanted him to sleep?

If only there were some sort of method of stopping a pregnancy before it even got to the point that the teenager had to go through labor that was legal, safe and without stigma.

Of course, this is Florida, so there is no such method.

I would take this story with a huge grain of salt. If you ask a cop how’s the weather and they tell you it’s sunny, bring an umbrella. (In case this isn’t clear to some people, it’s a saying about how cops fucking lie about everything

I don’t understand the thought process here. Even if it wasn’t fentanyl, she thought “I need the baby to sleep. Oh yeah, coke should do the trick.”

Teen mom forced to give birth and then becomes exhausted and mentally unstable from postpartum depression and does something unthinkable but they are unstable and lack maturity.

Exactly this. This is why it’s absolutely imperative that pregnancies and births are not forced on anyone.
