Shunning is the best first recourse we have. It’s nonviolent and you can stop at any time if they change. We should be shunning people with intolerant beliefs.

the internet gives harbour for the shinned. allows them to reinforce the behaviour and probably amplify the behaviour.

Shinned sounds like a verb for when you either kick someone in the shin or get kicked in the shin.

In any way, I am up for dickheads being first shinned and then shunned.

They’ve been playing the victim card for decades. It’s been a constant “we’re oppressed/we’ve got them on the run” for as long as I can remember

"Conservatives have an entire industry dedicated to complaining about not being allowed to say things they say all the time. Their victomhood is the entire brand…

…but, contrary to conservatives victimization complex, there is no organized cancel culture conspiracy where even the slightest misstep can one-hundred percent get someone on the right cancelled. But, actually there is. Oh, there is. One congresswoman, Liz Cheney, got kicked out of Wyoming’s Republican party for opposing trump. Yeah, as irony would have it, it turns out that when it comes to cancel culture, the ones who smelt it dealt it. There is someone cancelling people on the right. But the only one cancelling people on the right is Donald Trump."

To the conservative mind, shame itself is the great oppressor.

The shame you feel when the kids start talking back,

The shame you feel when they go as far as to take a loan out to go to college despite your objections,

The shame you feel when they come back from college open eyed and argumentative,

The shame you feel when they stop coming back for holidays,

The shame you feel when they officially cut you off,

The shame you feel when you find out about their future milestones second hand, if they even let you have a second hand link,

The shame you feel when all your neighbors have a similar story to tell in this dying spiteful dusty little town you spent your whole life in,

The shame you feel when feeling safe getting to say the N-word again when you blame the PC “junk” for turning the kids against you overrides all principles you may have once had like a junkie hanging on for dear life for that next hit of reassurance that the world can be punished for leaving you behind.

I don’t know why, but what you posted reminded me of this - https://youtu.be/EdVAd6oNqP0

Probably the line “You’re gonna wanna block, and BLOCK, and BLOCK! AND BLOCK… your son from moving to LA!”

sigh I would left this town too if only it were possible.
