The UK and the US struck 13 Houthi targets in several locations in Yemen on Thursday in response to a recent surge in attacks by the Iran-backed militia group on ships in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden, three US officials said.

The Houthi rebels said the airstrikes killed at least 16 people and wounded 35.

American and British fighter jets and US ships hit a wide range of underground facilities, missile launchers, command and control sites, a Houthi vessel and other facilities, according to US sources.

If China wants to be taken seriously on the world stage, they need to start participating in these kinds of missions. Real world powers do things that benefit the world, not just themselves.

I seriously can’t tell if this is sarcasm.

Plenty of 3rd world nations have been cozying up to China exactly because they don’t do these things.

Pretty much everything foreign the USA and Soviet Union did was to protect their own interests, not benefit the world.

This is the best summary I could come up with:

The UK and the US struck 13 Houthi targets in several locations in Yemen on Thursday in response to a recent surge in attacks by the Iran-backed militia group on ships in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden, three US officials said.

Also struck were eight uncrewed aerial vehicles in Houthi-controlled areas of Yemen that were determined to present a threat to coalition forces.

The Houthis released footage they said showed the aircraft being targeted with a surface-to-air missile in a desert region of Yemen’s central Marib province.

Also earlier this week, missile attacks twice damaged a Marshall Islands-flagged, Greek-owned ship in the Red Sea off the coast of Yemen.

The US also has been carrying out almost daily strikes to take out Houthi targets, including incoming missiles and drones aimed at ships, as well as weapons that were prepared to launch.

In recent months, the Houthis have stepped up attacks on shipping in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden, demanding that Israel end the war in Gaza, which has killed more than 36,000 Palestinians.

How is this in any way genocide?

This isn’t Palestine we’re talking about. Yemen isn’t even close to Palestine.

The Houthi shipping blockade is explicitly in defense of Gaza.

How does it help Gaza in any way to attack merchant ships off the Yemeni coast? You know where Yemen is in relation to Gaza, yes?
