The fact he rejected it in part because (per the novelization) he felt Kirk’s thoughts across who knows how many light years, and he was wishing Spock was there. That’s love, baby 🥹 Don’t get me started on “t’hy’la”!

Good call. They totally played on my Indiana Jones love in those episodes, but I ain’t even mad.
I think it’s proof that much like actual people, well developed characters are complex and do not fit neatly into boxes.
