I was able to actually vote and not feel like a scumbag for it so cool with me.
Fuck Pelosi for a thousand different reasons over the course of decades but she was far and away the person most vocally calling for him to step down.
There was two weeks of interviews that basically boiled down to
“The president is running out of time to decide for himself if he wants to step aside and let somebody else be the nominee.” - Pelosi
“He has repeatedly said that he has no intention of stepping down and intends to see this election to it’s finish.” - interviewer
“He is running out of time to DECIDE FOR HIMSELF if he wants to step aside.”
Like she’s a totally soulless ghoul but she came to grips with Biden being a doomed candidate way earlier than anybody else.
That being said if there was a primary I’m sure she would have worked night and day to make sure Josh Shapiro was the nominee and they still would have ate shit but still…
That’s the look of somebody who until very recently was the only person on the planet bad enough at politics to lose an election to trump.
They consider this a dunk on kamala because they’re putting it forward as proof they aren’t nazis, not calling her out for being friendly with nazis.
Their point is “obviously they were lying when they called us nazis because otherwise they wouldn’t be calling for a peaceful transition” not “all democratic opposition is meaningless because they’ll side with the nazis at the first sign of hardship”
It’d be like if they posted him getting convicted ofremoved and be like “see obviously he isnt a pedophile because heremoveds adult women”
Look you might not agree with all of Liz Cheyneys policies bit we need to focus on winning this election and then next time around we can work on progressive pipe dreams like shutting down the Large Immigrant Colider.
I legit think you’re giving them too much credit.
I know dozens of people locally whose families would benefit massively from even the modest safety net proposed by new york liberals but they are legitimately more concerned with eliminating the safety net because a minority might move to town and benefit from it even though that’s never happened and they are currently benefitting from it.
You’re literally doing yourself a disservice if you try to approach them with the assumption they’re rational people who just want the best for their family.
My mom is retired and works the local food pantry a couple days a week, she has had multiple disabled people who rely on medicaid come in and gloat about how trumps gonna kick illegals off of welfare and they’re gonna have to actually start working (again there are literally zero minorities in our town let alone immigrants)
My last job was for a Magat small business owner. Their complaints literally aren’t connected to reality. If you “listen to their concerns” it’s that a hitman paid by hillary was shooting a space laser at Trump trying to blow up Trump tower for al queda and then you get home and look up the story and it turns out somebody set up a projector to put “fuck trump” on the side of Trump tower for 4 minutes before cops broke his projector and told him to leave.
Unless you have a solution for teachers doing gender reassignment surgeries on kindergartens you aren’t going to be able to connect with them on issues.
At least we aren’t as bad as the liberals wishing for all thwse bad things to happen because we understand that even if Trump went on TV and talked about how great his “take all you stupid rubes money and use it to build a cannon to fling shit at you” bill they would immediatly start complaining that dems were flinging shit at them and come to the conclusion we had to give Trump more money.

My girlfriend works with somebody who’s personal email has 1488 in it. Whrn called on it the girl was like “yea its exactly what it looks like” Me explaining to her that person was a literal neo nazi, just like half the people she graduated with that she keeps insisting aren’t that bad, has been frustrating.
One of her girlfriends is a pediatric nurse that tried to get a religious exemption for the vaccines (she is not religious at all)
I’m just hoping we get to the point she stops calling me a misogynist if I say kamala was a dog shit candidate and the dnc failed us.
I think I finally broke through last night when she was like “how could they vote for trump when they have daughters” and I just kept reiterating they hate minorities and the concept of trans people more than they care about their own children.
