How does this happen?

In my mind, every cop who causes a death should permanently lose their job! I know that sounds extreme, and it is, but so is killing someone!

For me, I started thinking about the cost and the smell every time I had one. I quit cold turkey a few weeks later and felt grossed out every time I had one after that. I quit in 2009 and haven’t had a cigarette since 2010.

Cigarettes smell really disgusting to me now.

Those holes are almost certainly made by a woodpecker. That probably isn’t the real problem though. That wood is almost guaranteed to be infested with insects.

Best advice I can offer is to ask questions whenever you hear something objectionable.

Child: “You like science too much.”

You: “Why do you think that?” or “Why do you say that?”

Asking them to explain what they are saying tells you more about what is really going on and can help them to consider why they think that way.

On the one hand, I really wish the worst part about prison was the part about being detained for an extended period of time that is long enough to make the offender regret doing it and for the public to be rid of them for a while.

On the other hand, considering that this guy was a cop and slowly murdered a man in broad daylight on a city street. Fuck that guy!

Depends on local laws of their state, but yes in most states you lose the right to vote while in prison and some places, like Florida, make it difficult to get your right to vote back. Not sure if the prison sentence being for a state or federal crime makes a difference or not.

We have two buildings on our property with mini split heat pumps. Both are very quiet. They can be a bit noisy indoors if you turn the fan above the medium setting. It’s basically silent on the low fan setting. Low is plenty for both heating and cooling.

Wow! I’m not religious at all. So maybe I am just being an insensitive prick about this, but I really don’t care if someone wants their remains to be on the moon and I don’t care who it offends. It’s the moon.

There is no way in hell I would stop and consider the feelings of any religious group about a planetary body that isn’t Earth.

I also think that sending human remains to the moon is a complete waste of time, money, and resources. The only way a flight like this makes any sense is as a precursor to a manned mission.

Someday in the near future I expect there to be some kind of long term living space on the moon. When that happens, at some point someone will not make it back alive. It seems perfectly reasonable to me if their remains stay there permanently.

I don’t know. Maybe that’s just me. I’m not in a position to be anything more than a single voice. The whole thing seems really kinda dumb.

Unfortunately, as we have already seen within the Republican party, threats work! If you are a secretary of state right now, you have two choices:

A) upholding Article 14 sec 3 because Trump engaged in an insurrection and is disqualified from ever holding elected office. But by doing so you, your coworkers, and your friends and family will be having to endure constant protests, verbal abuse, and death threats for the foreseeable future
or
B) Not doing that, hoping that he loses again (as he should), and the crazy people mostly leave you alone.

Which one would you pick? The real answer is probably not as easy as simply following the law.
I know which one I hope I would choose, but I can’t say for sure I would do it.
