I would recommend the Acer Swift Edge 16, as it does pop up for $1,000 on sales, acer generally makes good laptops and don’t have scummy things secretly baked in like Lenovo, has amd RDNA 3 apu for running stuff, and for future gaming while running Linux my gut says AMD apu will be better than Intel because Steam Deck and most certainly the future steam deck 2 use Linux with amd apu, so I think driver optimization under Linux or used alongside Wine will favor AMD.

Most 4 cylinder ice cars will go 300,000 miles on the motor before the motor would need replaced if you take good care of them, and at that point you could drop a new motor in for $5,000 with labor.

These large batteries on the other hand are looking to cost triple that.

Also, there plenty of ice vehicles with original motors on the road that are well over 15+ years old and still run great (I own 3) but even with a new tech lithium battery that can stay good for 2,000 charge cycles, there is NO lithium battery getting cycles put on it or not that doesn’t go bad after about 15 years. You’re currently guaranteed to need a new battery after that long and since most vehicles are worth $10k or less after they’re 15+ years old that leaves the vehicles worth a bit more than scrap.

If it’s a pre-built there probably isn’t one that existed that’s good enough to run BG3 that only would have come with just a 500GB and if it’s a self built one I feel like almost no one would have built something recent enough to run bg3 and still would have just installed a single 500GB drive. 500GB was on the low end of custom builds a decade ago.

Yes, but I know that if you had to upgrade your vid card in the past 5 years you probably had to also upgrade at least your psu and if you went beyond that then yes, upgrade pretty much everything.

Lol. If it was a cheap pre-built it could probably stand to have the thermal paste on the gpu and processor redone. Thermal grizzly paste is really good stuff, but it’s also like $25. There’s plenty that are almost as good for half the money. Then also blow out all the fins with canned air. If your rig came with a short 2060 instead of a long one you’re pretty much destined to hear that fan no matter what, though. Can’t be louder than my kids PS4 right now.
