Our views towards nationality are much saner than those to the south of us, and it’s one of the reasons why I’ve lived here all of my life.

I like not needing to be proud to be Canadian.

They might be talking about the G20 summit and the protestors that we illegally held.

…but the courts agreed that it was illegal, and people received compensation.

Then you use a set of battery-powered tools that all run off of the same battery.
Making the switch makes the job much easier. Not needing to worry about needing access to power or venting CO2 when working in enclosed space in winter is game-changing.

With a system like Dewalt, you can basically do anything you want using only batteries. You can run lawnmowers, table saws, drills, air nailers, leaf blowers, chain saws, vacuums, mitre saws, hammer drills, hedge trimmers, grinders, and basically anything you need for most jobs off of the same battery.

I am fairly certain that “obviously” is your sarcasm tag, but I work with people this stupid/racist which makes me a little sad.

I’m glad that the CBC published the retraction, accuracy is paramount in reporting.

Pointing out that recently she had attempted to thwart justice via phone instead of email is also important.

The article might not be about that person you are replying to in particular, but the subject of the article is “white men.” The language the article uses implies that every single one of them is being infected with hatred, and we know that is just factually incorrect.

The mayor of my small rural town participated in our Pride week, he is a cis/straight/white male that I don’t need to feel afraid of.

Look a little closer at the article, the warrant was for a different address and the man was naked. It would’ve been extremely easy to confirm he wasn’t the right guy, and that he wasn’t armed.

Let’s say that it was the correct address and the police weren’t sexually harassing the man, why use tear gas when the guy that they believe to be the threat was already handcuffed on the ground?

James Manson (the lawyer)'s LinkedIn lists his position as “senior lawyer as Self-Employed” since Sept 2022.

If you have actual prospects, taking a case like this will kill your career unless your career is already over, or you’ve already joined an embarrassing firm like the JCCF.

I wonder how much money he’s scamming off the convoy-coup-crowd.

Edit: Even if you believe in the same causes as the JCCF, there is no denying that they are a firm of losers. They are happy that they have not-lost over 30 cases in the past 23 years.

Their website says that they have 14 lawyers and 7 paralegals. They should not-lose (or even better, win) more than 30 cases a month.

(I work with lawyers, but I am not one.)

It’s true that a major part of being in law is setting your personal feelings aside, but you also need to use critical thinking through the scope of professional ethics to represent the best interests of your client.

The issue that I see others in the profession having isn’t with the client of the case, it’s with the case and argument(s) themselves.
The lawyer is wasting the court’s time with indefensible arguments, which is likely to end up harming the clients not only in this case, but in their upcoming criminal cases as well.
