I use blockada to catch a majority of the apps that serve up 3rd party ads. This won’t block ads that are hosted by the same companies that host the content, like twitter or youtube. The only way you would be able to block ads from those is using a patched app. revanced manager works for patching youtube, and its list of supported applications does indicate support for 10 different patches to com.twitter.android, however I have never tried patching anything other than youtube.

Plex is becoming more focused on their own streaming and ad driven revenue vs the home/self hosted media platform. With that said I still am using it as it’s great for out of home streaming my content.

I find whitespace-mode invaluable in finding trailing whitespace, use of literal tabs and the like I always have it on when looking at code. Good tips in the article but I wish it had screen shots / showed examples.

I have been messing around with jellyfin as a replacement to my plex server. It seems nice tho the number of natively supported clients is small, it’s web client does fill in some of the gaps. I have been using Plex for years though and it has been amazing I’m just afraid of the direction the company has been heading in.
