Party Animals has beta access for preorders, so that will be one of the main games with friends this weekend. Then inbetween that still playing both Street Fighter 6 and Baldurs Gate 3.
Another Venu 2 owner here. It is great, does what I want from a smart watch(notifications, calender, heart rate, sleep and some other stuff), ties in nicely with the Garmin cycle computer I own, and allows for tracking between the two. And I get 3 - 4 days(or more depending on how much I am using it to record activities) in a single charge. I do kinda wish I had gone for a forerunner, but I dont wear it when cycling and it tracks walks and runs and everything else under the sun perfectly well.
Definitely recommend a Garmin if it fits your needs.
I do agree with most of your post, and the whole your average cyclist doing “30 mph without much trouble” is ridiculous. I do think you are underestimating how fast road bikes can be though.
You are not reaching 30mph unless you are fully sprinting on a descent with a gravel bike (maybe a mountain bike if it’s a long, long, stretch) or have a road bicycle on a flat/slight slope and you are full sending it (even on a flat road I’m assuming, I’ve never ridden one). Not to mention these people will be using protective gear
So, on a road bike, it is pretty easy on the flat to keep 20mph/32kmh. 30mph/48kmh is definitely an effort and not one that is sustainable for most people. To give you an idea, I did a charity bike ride in June which was just shy of 100 miles, it was 158.3km with 1667m of climbing as well, so not completely flat. I averaged 31.2kmh. I am in no way fast, I am alright on the flat but gravity is a cruel mistress on an uphill.
Downhill is a different thing as well, I have hit speeds of around 62mph/100kmh, and a hill near me will almost always spit me out doing 55mph/89kmh with 0 effort(roll down the hill and sit on the drops), and that is on both my road and gravel bikes. But that is probably steeper than you are thinking. However, there is also a pretty steady -1% average “downhill”, it is a false flat, but it is really easy to cruise along at 25mph/40kph+.
Eh, I don’t like the idea of getting rid of my smart phone. But I did get rid of all the shit I didnt actually like. I use my phone for Music, maps, the camera, messaging a few people, and a few other things. I got rid of all the crap social media, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, even reddit(and have not put a lemmy/kbin app on there to replace it), there is not shit mobile games installed. Just does what I need it to do, and doesnt constantly bug me about Person X and what they had for lunch.
However, if I ditched the smart phone, I would need a phone still, but then I still need the MP3 player, a camera. And I would much rather have 1 bit of kit that does all that well, than 3 items.
You can see all the games here - https://play.google.com/googleplaygames/allgames
From what I could see there was basically nothing of note. Maybe Jetpack Joyride if you want to indulge some 12 year old mobile game.
