On modern CPUs they’re designed to “race to idle”. Consequently when they’re not idle they’re not very efficient. The biggest change that improves my battery life is adjusting how I do certain things. Instead of trying to slow things down even more to save power I just try to get them to finish quicker so my CPU can get back to idle (and efficient) faster.
Intel is really awful with this. AMD is better but slowly getting to Intel levels. E cores might change things up a bit, but I don’t have experience with them yet.
Quiet normally. Besides the fuel injectors which is 90% of what you hear in a modern direct injection car.
Intel is really good at making 300+ watt monster CPUs. Intel really fucking sucks at making a good laptop CPU. Apple is really good at making an incredible laptop CPU, but sucks at making a Mac Pro CPU.
Process node differences definitely play a part, but it’s almost like comparing apples to oranges.
t’s not just one reddit with one /r/weirdfetish. It’s potentially infinite reddits with potentially infinite /r/weirdfetish.
I’d argue that’s the biggest inhibitor. Sure the idea of a rogue mod on weirdfetish1 pisses you off so you go to weirdfetish2, but weirdfetish2 has 1/100th the user base of weirdfetish1. Instead of weirdfetish2 getting built up, the people who use it eventually just get bored and move on.
Also with reddit you could just make literally “/r/weirdfetish2” there’s nothing stopping you.
