Just once this year I’d like to watch an easy win.
That’s an insane amount of money!!! I’m happy we’ll finally be able to see Ohtani in October. And that he won’t be playing for the Blue Jays!
This dude is fast af
Positives:
- Shorten game times and eliminated dead time
- Expanded wild card games
- Humidors everywhere? The sanctity of the statistics must be preserved
- Freely available data and stats! You can do super cool queries on some data and even find archival clips on the MLB Film Room site
Negatives:
- Astros sign stealing scandal, both the investigation (news orgs had to bring it to light) and the punishment were really poorly handled
- Fucking with the baseballs both juicing (possibly tainting a single season HR record?) and deadening them. You gotta be consistent in-season for the sanctity of the statistics
- Humidors everywhere? Isn’t it kind of fun that the ball plays differently in different stadiums because ya know, some places are dry and others are wet. Kind of like how each stadium is a little different
- Extra innings ghost runner. This has been said enough times but I’ll just add my voice in here too: it’s awful and must go
- Inter-league play
- Blackout restrictions
Neutrals
- Humidors everywhere
- Bigger bases
- Universal DH
All in all…I’m torn. I appreciate some rule changes that shorten game time without affecting the all holy numbers. But I don’t really like the standardization he’s brought to the game. Some of my favorite things about baseball are the unique characteristics of each team, city, and stadium. Baseball is a local game, not a national one like the other major sports. I’m intensely invested in my team’s division and, to a lesser extent, those in my league.
Hi, I’m an admin at fanaticus.social. Sorry for the inconvenience! Game bots are an important way for us sports fans to interact with one another during games but I understand how annoying they can be if you don’t care about the sport.
Here's a list of the communities that currently have a game bots running:

If you're comfortable with coding, there's an API endpoint to block a community. I threw together a little python script that would block all the above (I think 🙂).

In the future, we are planning on adding the game bots for the other major sports as well (they’re not in season now) but hopefully that will be a nice jumping off point for you.
I guess he got what he came for. He’s go no reason to stick around except to get sanctioned.
That sucks. Is your game bot open source? Is there anything I can do to help?
Wow what a game! What an ending! Best game of the year for me
I’ll tell you what, I really like the new rules. I did not expect the batter to be at a bigger disadvantage with the pitch clock. Turns out all those glove adjustments really did help
