The functionallity simply is missing and the consequence is everything will be on the lemmy.biginstance.com/c/thebigcommunity and everything else will be invisible (and probably defederated outright as moderation becomes increasingly untenable)

Although since that’s not the default view for the vast bulk of lemmy users, any community that is not “TheBigCommunity” probably on the “OneBigInstance” will not be seen or interacted with anyone. This leaves “TheBigCommunity” as the one place you can post, unless you’re ok with your post being seen by less than a dozen users.
