At least the “reply” button goes away so I don’t end up double- triple- or even duodecuple-posting! Thanks for all the hard work that must be going on behind the scenes right now!

Hi OP, I thought would be a great question for the newly created Geology group, so I posted a link to it there and got this great answer – in short:

There are many small fossils on that rock. It would be hard to tell what the rock itself is from just the photo. Limestone is the most likely candidate.

Go and read the full answer for more details!

If you’re happy with the answers you’ve got could you edit your title to add [SOLVED] at the end? Thanks, Michael

Correct, and somehow you posted the answer before my screen had even refreshed to let me know my post had been published!

You can add Liftoff! under macOS too. We’ve not done any work specifically to make it a first class Mac app, but it installs and runs perfectly using TestFlight for Mac.

Edit: sorry just realised that this is the original post reformatted. Looks really good, great work!

I hate that this comment got downvoted. It’s a valid thing to worry about and has generated some interesting replies

I watched Severance by mistake, thinking I was watching Succession, which meant I was totally disoriented for the first few episodes as I waited for Brian Cox to turn up. It was glorious. Can totally recommend.

That’s where join-lemmy really missed out. They should have introduced a set of rules like join-mastodon where instances must have at least two admins, a clear code of conduct, and clear rules as to how they manage closedown. That way users would be reasonably safe in picking an instance at random. But they didn’t so everyone should go to safe choices like lemmy.world.
