The fact that a licensed doctor has to make a case to an insurance company about what a patient needs is mind boggling to me. Every doctor I’ve talked to has told me that this is the worst part of their job.
Emergency services should never be privatized. Imagine firefighters having to ask some insurance company to cover the water they need to put your house out.
I’m starting to feel like the Cyberpunk 2077 version of the internet is not too far-fetched. It’s split into 2 parts:
-
The “old net” - This has been completely overrun by AI programs that are so fast and powerful they almost immediately compromise any non-AI powered system that connects to it.
-
The “net” - Blocked off from the old net by the “Blackwall” (a big firewall that keeps all AI out) is basically your standard internet that humans use via cybernetic implants.
I honestly could see AI basically filling the internet with so much garbage and malware that it becomes completely unusable. This is already starting to happen. However, if we create a new one with just human-controlled computers, I don’t see how we could stop people from just connecting AI to that one.
Factorio.
Everything—the gameplay, the music, the art style—feels like I hand selected it. There’s not a single decision the devs made that I wouldn’t have made too.
My curiosity got the better of me and I watched a video of a drug cartel beheading three people. Two with a chainsaw, one with a knife. It was horrific and not quick.
If you’re ever tempted to watch something like that, do not do it. It’s not worth it. It’s been years and I still have random intrusive thoughts about it and it makes me physically ill.
At this point, Star Wars is just a setting. The reason Star Wars shows/movies continue to be so divisive is because people expect the tone/genre of their favorite piece of Star Wars content.
For example, expecting to like Acolyte because you liked Rogue One is ridiculous. They have almost nothing in common. You wouldn’t expect to like Dr Strange because you liked Dunkirk.
Just because it has a Star Wars brand on it doesn’t mean it will be anything like other things with the Star Wars brand. Expecting that will lead to disappointment.
This change actually seems worse for YouTube. Why wouldn’t they want to link back to their own platform?
A dumb policy with perhaps an even dumber implementation. Basing profit sharing percentages off query parameters 🫨 ?
How about we just do away with unencrypted messaging all-together?
How’s fixing that power grid going, Texas?
