Agreed. And I want groups like this to succeed. But we need a single, easily digestible message that can encompass all of these issues under one roof. That issue, imo, is wealth inequality. But now it all comes down to phrasing. It’s an issue that isn’t hard to get people on board with if, and only if, we are careful with messaging and branding. I wish I was joking, but that’s the world we live in. Not the one where I demand everything, get nothing, and keep being frustrated that it never changes. It’s time to adapt or continue the cycle of losing.
DS9 has been my go-to lately, a classic now
I mean - if you have an opinion section on a news platform now is the time to fucking use it, end up lying in chalk with WaPo and La Times anyway.
Shockingly stupid. I keep thinking, well that’s the worst, and they are still able to find yet another exploit with which to speedrun fascism.
I still have no idea how Lemmy really works, and I had to sign up for this instance - I don’t know, I don’t see a platform growing on that. But maybe that’s the point. I’m trying to engage though! The Voyager app’s “import sub” feature from Reddit is brilliant.
Hard drive in the freezer. Broken actuator. Well, I put the entire laptop in. Early 00s probably. Worked for like 3 minutes.
As someone who lives in the suburbs in the Midwest as an adult who can’t drive - yes it’s a fucking nightmare. I lived in NYC and just lived near subway stations, best time of my life. SoCal is a close second, I lived in a city that was walkable/bikeable to anything - including the ocean. To say the suburbs were a shock is about as equal as my depression is to it still today. I’m an artist so fortunately I at least have that to do at home, the depression means it’s working right?
Yelling at various department managers and threatening to call Musk might work for the agencies they’ve gutted, but yeah fucking with any fire department during an active wildfire…I don’t care who you are, you’re gonna have a bad time. Possibly shovel related.
Ah, the full Hitler, a bold move let’s see how it plays out.
Regardless of the outcome I just hope this doesn’t lead to more tribalism in software again. The FOSS community needs to stay strong on an international level whenever it comes to hardware integration etc.
