People like Luigi remind me of “The Children of Kali” from the book “The Ministry for the future”. The Children of Kali targeted the owners of these multinational death machines but would not accept any collateral damage. Instead they were patient. The abusers got so scared they would never leave their house, but even that would not save them. Point is, these people follow a set of laws different from the ones that dominate society. They conducted themselves according to that law and that guided their assassinations. Something to think about as our own laws become lawless.

This so much. The “voters are too stupid” narrative defangs any attempt to talk about how our systems misinform (or don’t inform) voters.

Seems to me there is a big difference between attacking someone’s identity and claiming the earth is flat or marijuana is bad. The fact the mods don’t seem to address this is concerning.

I mean there has always been illegal speech, we just don’t usually call it censorship.

I guess my point is that environment (social circumstance) and individual behavior is a gradient. Drawing a clear line between the two so that “individual behavior” is the largest share might actually be unhealthy framing as it takes out of focus how an individual might improve their circumstances.

Individual behavior basically includes what kind of job you’re working, because that definitely impacts much of those other behaviors like sleep and quality of food.
