Why does this feel like the stage is being set to declare war on the Hague?
You know, someone joked about the ICJ finding Israel guilty and setting off a cascade of events eventually leading to… the US declaring that they’re invading the Hague, Germany giving Israel a base to join the attack on the Hague. NATO breaking and ww3.
I thought it was funny at the time, but damn i didn’t think that Germany would be defending Israel this hard against documented crimes against humanity
The worst part is that none of this is really a “defense”. Israel is killing innocent people, they know it, we know it, everyone knows it. The only response they care to give is that the alternative is that it’ll happen to them, which is impossible on several levels anyway. This “trial” is basically just the West vs South Africa in a tug of war over who gets to declare right and wrong.
