The relief of not needing to mask anymore hits hard

How do I unlock this power? 🥺 It took me years to allow myself to unmask in front of my husband any time other than when I was in crisis.

It takes a lot of work, effort and willpower. The possibility of being rejected makes it really hard. But then again it feels so good to just be yourself and witnessing others love you for that instead of in spite of it. Journaling helped me a lot with appreciating those small victories and therefore sticking to it, and also finding out who I am in the first place. Over the years myself and my masks sort of blended into each other and I had a hard time being a real person.

Yeah I had the opportunity for that recently, completely unmasked in front of someone I didn’t know. And holy crap it feels strange…

So, let me serenade you about my obscure passion until I either feel satisfied or you give up on social decorum.

You still have to mask. It’s how we get along with normies.

Wife and I watched through it for the first time last month.

We watched it for the second time last month as well.

Actually, we started our third watch last night.

It’s exactly the same as gays becoming gayer after coming out.
