I use the Hario size 02 filters with my v60 which I really like, but the only reliable and affordable source I’ve been able to find is from amazon.com. Does anyone have another source I can buy these from? I try to buy as little as possible from amazon, but these are something I still have to regularly buy from there.

I’m also open to alternative suggestions for filters if someone knows something else that works as well or better.

Depends on where you’re located, but most coffee stores and cooking stores sell them here (if one doesn’t have them, the next one will).

I’m able to get brown paper based ones that fit made by Melitta in some supermarkets too. But they are harder too find.

I agree. If OP lives near any roasters they should try there first. Even smaller roasting companies often sell equipment. For any Hario filters most supermarkets are out of the question, in my area it’s mostly flat bottom and Melitta #2/ #4.

I’d be willing to bet the local coffee shops that have Hario filters bought them on Amazon themselves and sell them at a slight mark up. So either way you’re going through Amazon.

I buy like 5 boxes at a time direct from Hario

Good call. It looks like there is a Summer sale going on Hario USA. I prefer the untabbed filters and Amazon is hit or miss on these. I ordered a half dozen boxes, which hold me to end of year.

thanks for the recommendation.

if you’re in the usa, it looks like both seattlecoffeegear.com and wholelattelove.com carry them. i definitely try to use them over amazon

Thanks a lot! The price on wholelattelove.com is really good, and free shipping if I buy in bulk which I usually do anyway.

What country are you based in? In the UK I use redber coffee for my filters.

My strategy has been to look around for specialty roasters that also sell v60 filters so I can get them as part of a coffee mailorder. I started keeping a list of the ones I discover and was considering trying to put it out into the wild, not sure what the best way of doing that may be. I prefer to buy local but do not prefer my only local roaster that carries v60 filters, they do their coffee a bit too “second wave” for my liking (everything pretty dark and lacking character, even stuff they call light and single origin).
