Like it or not he is a big part of deciding the direction of car culture and what cars are cool and what cars are lame. Had he focused more on electric cars* or spent less time demonizing and othering bikes and buses then things could have gone better.
* Electric Cars are not an ultimate solution to climate change but they are important transitionary technology while countries rework their infrastructure.
Of course same old story “piece of shit refuses to accept reality until it personally affects him.”
The scene in the first episode of Clarkson’s Farm where his neighbor tears into him for ignoring climate change is quite satisfying
