Israel says it is cutting off its electricity supply to Gaza. The full effects of that are not immediately clear, but the territory’s desalination plants receive power for producing drinking water.
Sunday’s announcement comes a week after Israel cut off all supplies of goods to the territory to over 2 million people. It has sought to press Hamas to accept an extension of the first phase of their ceasefire. That phase ended last weekend. Israel wants Hamas to release half of the remaining hostages in return for a promise to negotiate a lasting truce.
Hamas has pressed to start negotiations on the ceasefire’s more difficult second phase instead, which would see the release of remaining hostages from Gaza, the withdrawal of Israeli forces and a lasting peace. Hamas is believed to have 24 living hostages and the bodies of 35 others.
Dammit Biden, how can you let this happen!?
Thank god all the lefites stayed home on election day or this would have happened.
Their moral convictions stayed intact thank god. Well worth…checks notes…literal human lives.
What of the tens of thousands of dead and mutilated Palestinians at the hands of American bombs, jets, and funding from October '23 to January '25? If those deaths don’t matter to you then why do these deaths matter to you? Or could it be that you don’t really care either way and just want to use it as a political football?
Im not even American. Dont rope me in your weird-ass political posturing.
Obviously it was bad before but now its even worse and its worse for the rest of the world too.
Dont lecture me.
Why don’t you ever blame the people voting for establishment politicians?
They’re also sticking to their moral convictions at the cost of human lives since it’s becoming clear that the “fall in line crowd” actually isn’t falling in line.
Perhaps the people voting for establishment politicians should take their turn “falling in line” if they care so much about human lives? They’d have to sacrifice some of their greed and entitlement though! I don’t think it will happen in my lifetime.
If you don’t think this would’ve happened under Harris, I’ve got a great opportunity for you to make some money on crypto.
Give some semblance of proof or you’re no better than the election deniers from 4 years ago. Hell, without even a theory you’re even worse.
I’m not here to convince anyone, just here to comment. You’re free to do your own research. There’s tons of evidence and its going to be even more obvious come midterms.
Also, why do you think they were so vocal about pushing that narrative last go around? Because they knew with what they were planning, people wouldn’t want to speak up for fear of precisely what you’re doing. Fuck that noise.
You’re half right
This was going to happen regardless (Harris is a supporter of Israel’s actions), but the election was not stolen.
The evidence is out there. You don’t have to believe it, but it 100% was stolen.
No matter which side you take in this conflict one thing is clear - the incompetence of Israel and IDF is staggering.
It’s not incompetence, it’s a racist state where the majority see Palestinians as sub-human.
Yet another reminder that if a god does exist, they’re the type who likes burning ants with a magnifying glass.
I’ll never understand the anti-theist obsession with religion. They survey everything before them, scanning for signs of faith like a hawk searching for mice.
For me, one of the best things about atheism is I can automatically depreciate the significance of all that dumb shit.
Because it’s a blight on society, and it cripples people’s ability to think critically.
We are living in the results of a society founded on and formed by Christianity. It’s bad.
I actually disagree. I think most people who share your view of religion come at it from a fundamental point of misunderstanding.
Don’t get me wrong, most devout followers of religions also have fundamental misunderstandings. People like you tend to be unwilling to learn though and immediately jump to trying to invalidate the experiences and reasonings of others.
I’d say it’s coming from a position of fear more than anything else. You’re afraid of what you don’t know and rather than admit you could be wrong about something, you double-down and cover your ears. It’s an easy response to have. It’s harder to open your mind and accept that the people you disagree with might know more about something than you do.
Epicurus said it best:
Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent.
Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent.
Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil?
Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God
- Epicurus
Maybe god’s power isn’t absolute. He can do things, but it takes effort on his part and stops him from doing other things.
No no, that’s the one with sending bears to maul children for… calling a bald guy “bald”.
Israel doesn’t allow Palestinians to have their own electrical grid or potable water service. Israel controls everything in the West Bank and Gaza.
