up to 80€ for Digital Games up to 90€ for Physical Games Meanwhile Nintendo is richer than ever…

Na mate, that’s on you. Big N is well known for overpriced games and no sales.

I somehow payed only 60€ for TOTK. The rest i could find them around 40€. 3rd party even lower. 1st party always physical, 3rd party only digital when big sales come in place (around 10-15€).

For console gaming it was not that bad. Not comparing to PC gaming or the prices that old games should have ofc (putting 70€ for BOTW on Switch 2 is a big joke).

From the perspective of someone who’s had Sony consoles spanning generations that is terrible pricing. I only picked up a switch because it was a handheld, but it isn’t a selling point to me this time around due to the Steam Deck playing the same library of games I have on the PC.

Nintendo diehards will stick with it and it’ll sell great, but I’ll be going back to skipping Nintendo consoles for the foreseeable future.

I was planning to get a Switch 2 just to keep it at 1.0 and wait for a scene to develop, but even the console alone is a bit out of my price range.

Same, but i figure selling my kidney now is worth it instead of having to sell both later when the prices increase further AND hoarding scalpers price the ebay listing of the 1.0 version into the thousands.

What’re we betting on, fellas?

Tweezers (Wii), fridge magnets (3DS), and aluminum foil (NSW1) are claimed already.

Pocket lint?

Well, just fuck them. If you want more incentive, just look at how many lives they destroyed in the chase of money. They’re one of the most disgusting companies in the world.

If someone deserves having all their games pirated, it’s definitely Nintendo.

Not meaning to dispute your core argument, but your bar for “most disgusting company” is pretty low. There are factual companies out there profiting from war and famine, misinformation and oppression.

I mean, they intentionally and knowingly destroy people’s lives because some poor fella pirated. They try to bully and destroy other companies by claiming patents after the company reveals what their game will be about.

Sure, they’re not the worst company, but I’m not talking about companies that openly profit from war or whatever, I was talking about companies that pretend to be friendly while actively and intentionally hurting people.

Making someone who doesn’t have hundreds of millions pay hundreds of millions for the rest of their lives for sharing a stupid few games online is pretty fucking vile in my book.

But yeah, if I had to choose the vilest company in the category of looks-friendly-but-is-actually-evil, I’d probably choose Nestlé. Though all of the big 5 are also competing for the top spots.

The puzzle is complete now i guess. The witch hunting of all these years is explained. I also have a feeling that the CEO of Microsoft persuade them to go with this scheme, so Microsoft can follow (if i remember correctly, they had some meetings). Nintendo fans were always more acceptable to shit than Microsoft fans.

When I came over from console to PC steam sales and free multiplayer seemed like such luxuries x3… I’d never want to go back to console just for that (not that I was ever a fan of nintendo, since their game prices never go down to affordable levels)

Nintendo game prices seem too expensive not only to PC gamers, but Xbox and Sony gamers too. All the other platforms reward patient gamers with price drops even for first party titles, but for Nintendo sometimes they go up.

Oh yeah, I was on the ps4 for ages, and whenever I’d look at the switch through the years I’d always lose interest when I saw the games were still the price of half my rent 4 years in x3

To be fair. Nintendo is currently the only producer of AAA games that I would consider buying.

That being said. The rest of AAA devs should lower the prices of their games accordingly to their endhittification. Nintendo game quality didn’t increase, some even decreased (looking at you, pokemon).

Man the company had around $ 6 Billion profits in 2024. Profits, not revenue. The audacity to raise prices of games while they are more rich than ever.

Well, tbf, that is how they got rich.

They’re consistent, if nothing else.

They got rich because the Switch was something new, cheap, and the games had normalish pricing. Also corona played a big role, GPU market got pwned by mining back then, and many other reasons. I bought a Switch because i could not upgrade my GPU back in 2021 (1st console i bought after 15 years). It was a better value than other consoles and offered something the others had not.
