Neither will the color of your skin.
That’s part of why everyone should have cared about BLM, even for purely selfish reasons. The cops will kill you if they don’t like you. They have enough room to not like black people AND to not like you.
How much more risk are they really taking if they report a random, white citizen vs a brown green card holder? Neither is legal. Does it matter.
I don’t know why people think they’re safe just because they’re not a minority. Our police problem has spread. Now it’s the cops, ICE, half the judges, and the administration.
Conservatism consists of exactly one proposition, to wit:
There must be in-groups whom the law protectes but does not bind, alongside out-groups whom the law binds but does not protect.
But every conservative thinks they’re part of the in-group.
They’ve already picked up people with proof of citizenship on them, claiming they thought the papers were fake. And once you’re picked up, there’s no due process so there’s no chance for you to prove your citizenship before they chuck you into a camp.
We’re finding out a hard fact in life, courts can say anything they want and you can have all the laws you want but if no one enforces them they are worthless.
