Not entirely accurate. He died to the tutorial fight first. The guy who is supposedly one of the best players in the world.
Some extra context for those who have not played: PoE2 does not hold your hand. When I was learning the game that fight killed me too. But I wasn’t claiming to be one of the best players, (I’d still describe myself as bad) and that same fight can’t even hit me now.
Interesting. Might have to try it… Hopefully Elmo doesn’t sully the place too much.
It’s just proof he bought the account in initial beta release, and I still maintain he should be banned for it. Anyone who has played through to endgame maps should be capable of beating that boss deathless, he’s just a god awful gamer. Total trash. Garbage. Also Nazi scum.
Yeah the tutorial fight isn’t a “you should win easy-peasy” like some games. But it’s also not like Genichiro in Sekiro where you’re supposed to lose. I wonder if GGG published a breakdown of deaths to the boss. I think I cleared him four times on four characters and never died to him, but I also play a lot of this kind of game. (Unlike Musk, who is a fraud)
I would generally agree but PoE is brutal and early game involves dying a lot. The fact that he thought dying was a problem is a WAY bigger tell that he’s never played the game. Dying POE is like dying in a souls game, it shouldn’t phase you in the least.
The way I heard it (I didn’t watch the stream) was that he logged in and toasted like three hardcore characters (you know, because he’s so hardcore) then rolled up something new, died to the tutorial, and left.
Dying is in fact a problem when all your characters are hardcore characters. That’s why the only people who play hardcore are masochists and whoever Elon has on the payroll to be a masochist for him.
You’re also generally not being insulted by randos for being a piece of shit.
Tries to back out of Twitter purchase.
Backs out of fight with Zuckerfuck.
Runs away with tail between legs after some online bullying.
This chode is the snowiest of flakes.
Brave sir Elon ran away,
He bravely ran away away…
When danger reared its ugly head,
He bravely turned his tail and fled,
Yes, brave sir Elon turned about,
And gallantly he chickened out,
Swiftly taking to his feet,
He beat a very brave retreat,
Bravest of the brave, sir Elon!
Whilst I appreciate the source material, in this case it’s not even danger he’s running away from, it’s being rubbish at a game he claimed to be good at.
He can’t blame his connection either because it was meant to advertise starlink lmfao
He’ll throw Starlink under the bus because his ego can’t handle admitting he’s a trash gamer.
This headline is missing the most important part. the trolling didnt make him quit, him trying to prove that he’s a good gamer and then dying to the tutorial boss made him quit.
Amusing but is this considered politics at this point?
The It Could Happen Here podcast just discussed why people like Elon have been trying to present themselves as gamers.
They state video games are played by 3 billion people, and gaming generates more revenue than movies, tv, and music combined. It is a huge, untapped group of people that is misunderstood by most politicians.
People like Musk of Sam Altman present themselves as gamers to try to get the support/money/etc of this massive group of people. It’s also a way to spread a narrative within a group that will fly under the radar of politicians.
GamerGate showed the power of a potential stoking of the fire of this group of otherwise unrelated individuals.
Exposing Elon as the fake he is in this arena takes away his power within that group. He is a poser, so it isn’t hard, but it cuts him off of an avenue of power he’s wishing to grasp and manipulate.
