Hey, I found this ‘port’ or ‘socket’ in my glove compartment. I checked the manual and parts list, but could not figure out what this should do. Fingers crossed that is a bulbsocket! Anyone know what this is??

Toyota Starlet EP90, the 73 horsejuice one. It has only 4 prongs, but from videos it looks like the OBD port is under the hood. Original owner no longer alive to tell us the story.

fyi “OBD” connector (DLC - Data Link Connector) is a 16pin connector & is supposed to be accessible from drivers seat. This could possibly be the OEM diagnostic port. If so it might be CAN -

this is to my knowlege the predecessor to the OBD-port. probably proprietary.

Thanks for sharing, I have to get my periodic vehicle inspection at the end of this month, I’ll ask my shop’s mechanic to get some confirmation.
