Apparently moths are not attracted to light they just can’t get away with it. Because they use the brightest light as a way to orient themselves. It turns out this is instictive and has no way for them to get out of that state without them knocking themselves out. ln short, mothman we’ll be there standing till daylight.
Apparently the orientation theory doesn’t explain all the observations. I found a page with some interesting details: https://www.sciencefriday.com/articles/why-moths-are-attracted-to-light/
Why are they sitting around a lantern?
Really. Nobody talking about how thicc mothman be?
There was never a reason to fear him. Everybody just assumes he broke that bridge because he happened to be nearby, and now people blame him for all kinds of crap calling him a bad omen when all he wants to do is eat cotton watch and lighttube.
